About Robert John Puzey

Robert John Puzey was brought up in Dr Barnardo's (children's homes across the UK). When he left Dr Barnardo's at the age of 16 he joined the Merchant Navy, only to discover a life on the ocean wave wasn't for him. Back on terra firma, Robert worked as a window cleaner by day and sang in a pop group by night. He started writing his own compositions, and soon discovered that his songs had commercial value.

In 1976 Robert met Billy Ocean, they co-wrote five songs, including Soul Rock which Billy recorded on his debut hit album. Billy introduced Robert to his record producer/music publisher. The producer saw great potential in Robert, and signed him.

In the space of eighteen months, Robert enjoyed the success of two UK top 3 hits, I'm in the Mood for Dancing performed by The Nolans and Wanted performed by The Dooleys, and enjoyed success in winning the grand prize at the 10th Tokyo Music Festival with the song, Sexy Music performed by The Nolans.

In the same year, I'm in the Mood for Dancing became the biggest hit in Japan for twelve years. On top of that, Robert was nominated for the Ivor Novello award in the categories of Songwriter of the Year and Most Performed Work 1980. Robert met his late wife, Kath, in 1981. They married in 1982. At a two-yearly rate they produced four children, Alexis, Lois, Max, and Greg. Kath had two children from a previous marriage: Frazer and Kylar.

It was a fairytale come true; everybody was living happily ever after… when tragedy struck!

Robert was enjoying a UK hit record Diamond Lights performed by Glen Hoddle and Chris Waddle, which he had written and co-produced, when it came to light that Kath had bowel cancer.

Kath fought against her cancer for five years. It was an inspiring, but very sad journey. However, Kath and Robert didn't take it lying down; they explored every avenue of orthodox and unorthodox medicine. By the time Kath finally lost her gallant battle against cancer Robert had studied Hatha Yoga extensively, and having experimented exhaustively in the field of mind over matter and spirit over worldliness, was having some quite revolutionary and fascinating results from his work.

Bringing us up to date, Robert has formulated a unique Programme, Yoga-De-Age Programme, which has the potential to halt, and even reverse premature ageing; enlightenment and healing evolves naturally through practising the many fun-packed mind-to-body exercises. Robert says: The great thing is that you can take part in Yoga-De-Age Programme from a hospital bed and still enjoy the benefits that a healthy person may achieve.

Robert is a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher, and is writing and teaching fulltime. At present he lives in North London, England.
